Our mission at MycoTreks LLC is to foster a culture of respect, sustainability, and mutual appreciation among travelers, guides, and local communities. We aim to ensure that every interaction reflects our commitment to environmental stewardship, cultural sensitivity, and responsible travel practices. By adhering to these guidelines, we strive to create enriching experiences that leave a positive impact on the environment and the communities we visit, while also promoting understanding and connection between people from diverse backgrounds. Our commitment to our community

These guidelines apply to all members of our community, including Travelers, Guides, and MycoTreks employees. It is expected that everyone adheres to these guidelines to foster a positive environment. We hold ourselves to the same high standards and will not tolerate any form of bullying, harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or cruelty from any member.

We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, national origin, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, or disability. Discrimination against any individual or group on any of these grounds is not tolerated.

MycoTreks is committed to:

• Transparency without compromising safety. We promote open communication and strive to maintain transparency within our community whenever feasible. If we find that any content, including reviews, shared by a community member is intended to harm another individual, MycoTreks retains the authority to promptly remove such content.

• A complete story. We firmly believe that every situation has multiple perspectives, and we are dedicated to comprehensively understanding the context whenever there is an issue or potential violation of our guidelines. Our team is empowered to initiate investigations into any incidents within the MycoTreks community.

• An opportunity for growth. Whenever feasible, we operate under the assumption of good intentions. To facilitate this, we have integrated reviews and investigations into our procedures. This allows individuals the opportunity to rectify their actions or improve following violations of community guidelines. Recognizing that humans are fallible and perfection is an ideal rather than a reality, we acknowledge that we are all striving to navigate an unpredictable industry and world. MycoTreks retains the authority to consider probationary measures in response to minor breaches of community guidelines as deemed suitable.

Your commitment to each other

By becoming a part of the MycoTreks community, you pledge to foster a safe and respectful environment for all. This entails following the guidelines outlined while using the MycoTreks platform, during MycoTreks trips, on any affiliated platforms, or whenever engaging with fellow community members.

Anyone who violates or does not respect the spirit of these guidelines may be immediately and permanently removed from the MycoTreks platform.

What we expect

• Practice kindness. Begin each interaction with empathy, taking into account the feelings of others, and opt for the approach that results in the most positive outcomes for everyone involved.

• Be respectful. Regardless of whether you're navigating our online platform, browsing social media, or participating in a trip, always respect others' boundaries and personal differences, and refrain from passing judgment.

• Stay mindful. Be deliberate in your words and actions, whether online, offline, or during a trip. Aim to construct and inspire rather than criticize or tear down.

• Take responsibility. Your actions matter. Hold yourself accountable for your choices and behavior.

• Embrace inclusivity. Be yourself and welcome others to do the same.

• Stay curious. If you feel defensive or uneasy when engaging with these guidelines or a member of our community, we encourage you to explore why you might be feeling that way. There's always something valuable to learn from those who are different from us.

WHAT WE DO NOT TOLERATE:

We do not tolerate harassment or bullying of any kind

• This includes written or verbal harassment, hate speech, violence, sexual harassment, negative behaviors toward others based on their race, ethnicity, immigration status, religion, caste, body size or appearance, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or disease. This includes trolling and posts or comments that instigate conflict with, or aim to harm another person or community member.

• No malicious content, unverifiable or irrelevant reviews, content that is inappropriately biased, or information that is not helpful or could harm the mental, physical and financial health and well-being of another person. 

• No content that is disrespectful, discriminatory, or derogatory toward members of any community — even beyond the MycoTreks community.

We do not tolerate discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability

We do not tolerate privacy violations.

• No content that shares the location, address, phone number, or any other personal information or personally identifiable information of any other person or community member.

• No resharing of personal or intimate stories shared by a community member or Traveler that were shared in good faith or in confidence on trip.

• Please respect others, including MycoTreks community members and local residents when capturing content on a trip. Consent is required from all parties before capturing or posting their image or personal information.

• Do not share content that contains the location, address, phone number, or any other personal information or personally identifiable information of any other person or community member.

We do not tolerate overtly sexual or explicit content.

We do not tolerate violent or overtly aggressive behavior directed toward another person, no matter how such behavior is conveyed.

• No guns or weapons are allowed on any trip.

• No content promoting firearms.

• No vulgar language with malicious intent.

We do not tolerate content promoting illegal activities.

We do not tolerate commercial content that promotes other businesses or brands without authorization or approval by or from MycoTreks.

If these guidelines aren’t for you

If that's the case, let's part ways amicably. We always hope that community members will opt for empathy, curiosity, and growth when informed about a guideline violation. If you find these standards uncomfortable, then perhaps MycoTreks isn't the best fit for you, and vice versa. Anyone who violates or disregards the essence of these guidelines may be promptly and permanently removed from the MycoTreks platform.
